What we do

EcoMedia Lab is an interdisciplinary research-creation studio at Indiana University dedicated to bioart, ecoart, and experimental media practices that investigate living systems, environmental change, and speculative futures.

Our workspace

EcoMedia Lab is housed at Indiana University’s Research and Teaching Preserve, a living field site for ecological art and environmental media. The RTP’s forests, fields, waterways, and field lab offer students and faculty opportunities to engage directly with local ecosystems through observation, fieldwork, creative experimentation, and site-responsive projects. Through this relationship, EcoMedia Lab connects studio-based creative practice with place-based environmental learning.

    Katina Bitsicas

    Katina Bitsicas is an associate professor at The Media School, and an affiliate faculty member in the Environment, Society, and Sustainability Institute at IU.

    Lauren Albert is a Ph.D. candidate in the Hall Lab studying the interactions between host consumers, their resources, and the parasites that infect them.
